July 15 National Pet Fire Safety Day – each year thousands of home fires are started because of a pet.  Make sure cords are tucked away and not being chewed on.  If your stove has knobs on the front, make sure to cover them with a shield, so your dog doesn’t accidentally turn a burner on by jumping up against the stove.  If you use open flame candles, be sure to supervise pets closely.  Many battery operated candles look very real.  For scented candles, use a candle warmer.
