February 25 Spay Day USA This is an annual observance to bring attention to the pet overpopulation problem in the US. According to American Humane Society, 5 million companion animals enter animal shelters nationwide every year. 60% of dogs and 70% of cats from animal shelters are euthanized every year because there is no space in these shelters. Spay or neuter your pet, and donate to help spay and neuter shelters animals who are waiting for a furrever home.

bingo2015flyerFeb 28  Cardboard and Duct Tape Sled Racing – Blackwater Falls State Park, Davis, WV.  Every tool box has it! Duct Tape. Make a sled of cardboard and duct tape and bring to the Blackwater Falls for the second annual Duct Tape and Cardboard Sled Race. Design and construct a person powered, corrugated cardboard sled able to withstand the down hill fun on the Blackwater Falls sled run. March 1  Coach Purse Bingo  at Knights of Columbus, Fairmont, WV.  Doors open at 1 p.m.,  Bingo starts at 2 p.m.  This event is a fund-raising event for Maddie’s Angels – a non-profit organization providing spaying, neutering, and care of injured animals.  Maddie was a small Momma dog that was shot in the head along with 4 of her puppies in Rachel , WV in 2012.  Advanced tickets $20.  Tickets at the door $25.  Tickets can be purchased from 8th Street Confectionery, Middletown Animal Clinic or Hometown Hotdogs in Fairmont.
